Cardiology Nursing


Cardiology nursing may be a specialty focused on preventing and treating conditions associated with the guts. Cardiac nurses may work in inpatient or outpatient settings, care for medical or surgical patients, and see patients through acute illness or help them manage chronic disease. Cardiac nurses work under cardiologists and combat many tasks to treat both acute and chronic heart conditions. For patients with acute coronary failure, like heart attacks or asystole, use tools like defibrillators. Cardiac nurses may assist surgeons with operation also. Cardiac nurses must have specialized skills so as to perform their job. These skills include defibrillation, electrocardiogram monitoring, and administering medication through IV drips.



Gain work experience in the field. To become cardiac NP, nurses must become specialists in cardiac care. Aspiring cardiac NPs must amass 2,000 hours of clinical practice in cardiac-vascular nursing and complete 30 hours of continuing education over the course of three years for the ANCC certification.While workings as a cardiac nurse are often stressful, it also can be extremely rewarding.
