Legal Nursing

Legal Nursing aims to offer nurses a forum to debate and enhance their knowledge of modern law as it affects their practice. Nurses have a legal and ethical duty surrounding and encompassing all that they do. There is a requirement for forums that enable nurses to debate and consider the implications of their legal responsibilities.

The demand for legal nurse consultants remains high due to their medical expertise. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 7% increase in RN positions from 2019 to 2029, outpacing the 4% national average for all occupations. Legal nurse consultants (LNCs) are Registered Nurses that provide invaluable consultation and expertise to attorneys about medical issues. With strong roots in clinical nursing practice, LNCs apply the nursing process to evaluating relevant, complex information in legal cases.
